Participate in just a few clicks

Students need to register in order to participate in this year’s Engineering Newcomer Challenge. Now photos, screenshots and descriptions of a project design from the field of engineering and development can be uploaded using the upload link. The more likes a project gets, the bigger the chance of winning. But of course likes are not the main determining factor. There is a jury of experts who will judge the project designs based on the following aspects: originality, practical value, technological benefit, market potential, function, handling and technological implementation.

Two new judges to join the jury in 2021

This year there are two new judges joining the jury of experts. Representing Zuken E3 GmbH, Joachim Frank will have a say in who will be this year’s winning team. “As a team of engineers, we have always maintained contact with students and colleges. One of our passion projects is supporting numerous Formular Student teams with our software E3. That’s why I’m very much looking forward to the Engineering Newcomer Challenge 2021 and the many exciting project designs!”

Also joining this year’s jury is André Kohut of TENADO GmbH: “I’m excited to be a part of the expert jury of the Engineering Newcomer Challenge 2021. Innovativeness is the key to breaking new ground and developing unique solutions. As the executive partner of TENADO I know how important this is because our TENADO CAD 3D software is the ideal tool for implementing innovative concepts. I am very curious about this year’s exciting projects and their practical use!”

Engineering Newcomer Leaderboard: Which college has the most creative students?

The leaderboard shows which school has the most innovative engineers-to-be at the end of each challenge. Whoever is in the lead at the end wins an additional prize of 500 euros. Every submitted project is worth 1 point. Additionally, the schools can gain 10 points for first place, 6 points for second place and 3 points for third place in the competition.
