CADENAS presents solution at AVEVA Marine & Offshore Seminar

Presentation about component initiative shipbuilding shows opportunities for optimized cooperation between component manufacturers & shipyards

From 5 to 6 March 2013, the AVEVA Marine & Offshore Seminar 2013 took place in Malmö, Schweden, which was a complete success with more than 80 participants from Central and Northern Europe . On the program, there were 30 breakout sessions and other cross-cutting presentations which were received by the participants with great interest.

Together with Björn Mikoleit from Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, Jens Bertram from CADENAS Solutions GmbH held a presentation about the component initiative shipbuilding.

The initiative by shipyards and component manufacturers offers a solution to the main problem of ship designing. While component manufacturers concentrate on a high performant CAD system for their design and manufacturing, shipyards usually work with other planning systems which focus on integrating different components into the ship. An efficient and secured exchange of CAD outline models between market participants is only possible after prior manual comparison of the exchange formats. With the platform CADENAS has developed, they provide shipyards native formats for direct embedding into the target system.

Due to the positive feedback of this year’s event, AVEVA announced the third AVEVA Marine & Offshore Seminar for June 2014.
